P.S. When we asked our friend Katherine to translate it the next day, all she could understand was that he kept saying "Why are you so white?!" HAHA!

Chinese Entertainer Yelling at Us!
Last Friday, we went back to the outdoor bar place we went the previous weekend because we had such a blast! The first time we went there was KTV (karaoke) on stage but we were not quite confident enough to get up there (however, now we feel confident that we will become the next pop stars of BJ). This time, there was a man performing who was hilarious - though we have no idea what he was saying. He did crazy things like take off his shirt, use fans with feathers while dancing, and shortly after we sat down he started using US for his act. From the stage he was waving at us and talking to/at us. We were just laughing and saying "I don't know!" (also in Chinese - wo bu dong!) Here's a video when he got off stage to come straight over to us and "yell" at us while everyone - including us - were cracking up. Enjoy!

ReplyDeleteHe first said that "lao wai" was here. (meaning americans or westerners). Then he asked what country you were from, and then pointed out that Charlotte was very white. He followed that up with an attempt at saying hello followed with "they don't understand my english". after some jibberish he said something about you guys not understanding him as if he were drunk?
I could be wrong about some of this... but in case you were wondering!
